Vanya Grigorova, an independent municipal councilor, spoke on the air of “Good Morning, Europe“ about the governance of the capital, whether the garbage crisis has been overcome and whether the strike in public transport has passed.

With the start of the election campaign, Vanya Grigorova predicted that the coming weeks would be marked by repeated messages. “I expect bargaining, I expect the same programs“, she said, emphasizing that she does not recognize her representative among the candidates. According to her, even new political projects do not offer a substantial alternative.

Mr. Radev said that he would focus on inequalities, but this turned out to be just rhetoric to attract interest, since there is nothing of the kind in his program.

According to Grigorova, the theses about limiting income growth are harmful and serve the interests of employers. “For employers, salaries will always be high“, she said, adding that the real problem is in the inequalities between profits and income: “This scissors is not so much between salaries, but between profits and salaries“.

The absence of the BSP will undoubtedly be felt, because at least the leftist rhetoric will be missing. When you have leftist rhetoric, you still have some kind of limitation, self-imposed by the other parties.

With regard to state finances and the adoption of the extension budget, Grigorova described the funds earmarked for defense as unjustified. “These additional funds of 6 billion leva or 3.2 billion euros are categorically unnecessary“, she pointed out, referring to the planned new debt. According to her, the funds do not meet the current needs of society, especially against the backdrop of problems in the healthcare system and delayed salaries in municipal structures.

“It is obvious that the destruction of the Bulgarian army was generally a wrong move decades ago“, she added, but emphasized that the current expenses do not solve immediate problems.

Salaries have not been paid at the Fourth City Hospital for several months because we do not have a state budget, which is why we do not have a municipal budget. Here, we see that the harmful policies from the state budget that were set are continuing during the extended period.

Commenting on the situation in Sofia, Grigorova stated that neither the problems in healthcare nor those with garbage collection have been overcome. “The crisis has not passed us by“, she warned and gave an example of the high prices of waste removal contracts.

Terziev signed a contract with the Municipal Company for 200 leva per ton and signed long-term contracts with a Titan company for 285 leva. We keep our nicknames, we keep our high prices for garbage removal.

In her words, “nothing has improved“, and citizens are gradually getting used to the deteriorated environment as the “new normal“.
