How many votes are needed to pass the 4% barrier in the elections. The mathematician Prof. Mihail Konstantinov made a comment on the air of "Your Day".

„A lot depends on how many people will vote and what the number of actual votes will be. Suppose that for the parliamentary elections there will be 2 and a half million actual votes, and for the European – 2 millions. This is very close to the numbers we saw in the last vote. There are 6 million and 600 thousand Bulgarian voters in the world and in our country. We assume that there are not that many invalid votes. In our country, they are only for municipal councilors because of the preferences. 4 percent of them 2 and a half million is 100,000. That is, in order to get deputies from one party, we need 100,000 votes. They guarantee at least 10 MPs. The parties are counting on chasing these votes in national elections”, explained Konstantinov.

For MEPs from one party to enter, the barrier is 5.88% or 1/17. Roughly speaking, 115,000 votes will be received, the expert specified.

In his words, two groups cannot make an assembly, if they are going to do it, there should be at least three.

„There are no barriers for our politicians, they are ready for anything to get their hands on power”, added the professor.
