Over BGN 1 billion more was paid by the state for pensions in the first half of 2024 compared to last year.

As of June 30, 2024, the total amount of reported revenues in the consolidated budget of the state public insurance is BGN 6,302.3 million, which represents 48.9% implementation of the plan for the year. The received revenues are BGN 880.0 million more compared to the first six months of 2023.
The total reported expenses amount to BGN 11,568.8 million or 47.5% of the budgeted for the year. Expenditures are BGN 1,411.9 million more than last year.
In the structure of total expenses, the largest share is occupied by the expenses for pensions, which amount to BGN 10,202.4 million, which is 47.2% of the implementation of the plan for the year. Pension expenses are BGN 1,165.4 million or 12.9% more than in the first half of the previous year.
The number of pensioners for June 2024 was 2,044,188, or 14,888 (0.7%) more than a year earlier. The average monthly amount of pension for one pensioner is BGN 825.94, which is BGN 91.22 (12.4%) more compared to June 2023. The average monthly amount of pension for length of service and age of one pensioner is 910 BGN .65 or BGN 103.00 (12.8%) higher than in June 2023
The next most significant and large group of expenses in the consolidated budget of the LLC are the expenses for the payment of cash benefits and benefits under the Social Security Code, which as of June 30 amounted to BGN 1,276.9 million or 50.1% of the implementation of the plan for the year.
The reported expenses are BGN 234.4 million more than the data as of the same date last year.
