A plan has been drawn up for the use of the BG-ALERT system for warning the population, containing specific measures and activities, including for improving the organization of early warning of the population at the regional and municipal levels. This was stated by the Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov in response to a parliamentary question from MP Ivaylo Mirchev (PP-DB), published on the website of the National Assembly, BTA reports.

In his response, Minister Mitov also indicated that as of 28.04.2023, the use of the BG-ALERT system had been requested by 100 mayors of municipalities and seven regional governors. After a letter was sent to the relevant institutions, the process of submitting applications for the use of the BG-ALERT system was activated, the Minister specified. Accordingly, as of 19.05.2025, newly received applications from 19 mayors of municipalities from 15 regional governors, as well as from the Minister of Environment and Water, were processed.

The officials who had undergone initial training to work with the BG-ALERT system, as of 19.05.2025, were 212 in total, of which - 28 regional governors; 29 deputy. regional governors and 144 authorized employees of the regional and municipal administrations, the Minister of the Interior stated.
