Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov will open a National Discussion "The Effect of the Eurozone. The Experience of Member States Speaks" at the Council of Ministers. The forum is organized by the Economic and Social Council and is part of the activities under the Communication Strategy for the introduction of the single European currency in our country, informs BNT.
The council members from Bulgarian business, trade unions and civil organizations, representatives of consumer organizations from Lithuania and Latvia will participate. The discussion will also include representatives of the National Assembly, the Bulgarian National Bank, the relevant institutions involved in finance and control, as well as the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria.
The single European currency will be introduced in our country from January 1, 2026. Yesterday, at a meeting of the Eurogroup, Bulgaria received full support to become the 21st member state of the eurozone. The final decision on the adoption of the euro in Bulgaria will be made on July 8 in Brussels, by the EU finance ministers.
