13-year-old bully from Vidin sent to boarding school

Municipal commission decides to send him to boarding school, but final decision must be made by court

The Commission for Combating Antisocial Behaviors of the Vidin Municipality decided to take a measure - sending him to boarding school - against the 13-year-old boy who hit and knocked another, younger child to the ground.

“The final decision will be made by the court”, said the chairwoman of the commission Borislava Borisova, who is also the deputy mayor for humanitarian activities and social policy.

Later it became clear that at the proposal of the Vidin Regional Prosecutor's Office, approved by the Vidin Regional Prosecutor's Office with a prosecutor's decree, the 13-year-old boy will be taken to a Home for Temporary Accommodation of Minors and Juveniles in Sofia. At 12 o'clock, accompanied by an inspector from the Children's Pedagogical Room and police officers, the teenager left for the specialized closed-type facility, the press center of the ODMVR-Vidin reported.

12-year-old Georgi, who became the object of the aggression, was discharged from the Vidin hospital in stable condition with stitches on his face. The child has no damage from the concussion, which he was hospitalized with and will be treated at home, the health facility reports.

We recall that the footage of the violence against the 12-year-old child quickly went around social networks. The aggression caused a wave of public discontent and a civil protest against the violence is being organized in the city on Wednesday evening, which will take place in front of the District Administration.

According to NOVA, the parents of the abuser have given him up in writing and he was left for adoption from abroad.

It turns out that this is not the first case of aggression by the 13-year-old boy. He was enrolled in one of the local schools, which, however, he only attends for two school days. He first shows aggression towards his classmate, and then slaps another child. He also behaves arrogantly towards his teachers. The school management has taken all measures, the Sofia University “St. Cyril and Methodius” told NOVA.

“Since April 23, the boy has been redirected from a crisis center in Novo Selo to the crisis center in Vidin. The Regional Education Department referred him to our school, where we enrolled him because we had free places. For the two days he attended classes, he displayed aggressive behavior towards students and teachers. We notified the institutions about his behavior, on the basis of which measures were taken,” explained the school’s director Biserka Kamenova.

The pedagogical advisor at the school, Yuliana Zhivova, explained that this boy, for two days of attending the school, displayed rude and arrogant behavior that did not respect any norms of public order. "He slapped another child and displayed verbal aggression towards his class teacher," she explained.

According to the class teacher, Alexander Petrov, the 13-year-old boy tried to enter the school on the third day in an "indecent appearance". "I and the teachers on duty did not allow him and he started threatening and insulting me and other colleagues. He even invited me to go outside for a physical fight", he said.

There were also reports of violence in the family-type housing in Novo Selo, where the minor lived until the end of March. That is why they are going out to a civil protest in Vidin.

"The main reason for the protest is what happened on Sunday with Georgi. We do not want this aggressive attacker to live among us anymore. Because today it was Georgi, and tomorrow it will be my child", said the organizer of the protest, Bari Rusev. And he added: "Vidin does not sleep and we are protecting our children".
