A 5-member panel of the Supreme Administrative Court finally upheld the minimum wage set for this year.
In February, a three-member panel of the Court rejected the appeal of the Association of Industrial Capital in Bulgaria against the decree, which in October last year set the minimum wage at 1,077 leva, BNR summarized.
The employers' organization's arguments were that it was adopted despite the objections of one of the parties in the social dialogue and without taking their arguments into account, they also claimed that an ILO convention was violated.
The two instances of the Supreme Administrative Court (SAC) accepted that the issuance of the decree complied with the requirements of the law and the Labor Code, which defines the mechanism for determining the minimum wage. The five-member panel left the request to rule on whether the specified minimum wage should be considered gross without consideration.
