Electricity Distribution Networks West (ERM West) has launched an information campaign under the title „Life is worth more than likes“, aimed at preventing risky behavior among children and teenagers related to climbing electric poles and high-voltage facilities to shoot „extreme“ videos and photos for social networks.
The campaign aims to raise awareness about the real dangers of electric shock, falls and fatal accidents that can occur during such actions. There is a growing trend among young people to seek popularity through risky challenges, often inspired by social media.
The main messages with the hashtag #StayAliveChallenge – „Life is worth more than likes“, are:
„Your life is more valuable than any story.“
„Don't play with the tension - play with the imagination.“
„Likes disappear. Consequences remain.“
The campaign is aimed at students aged 8 to 18, as well as their parents and teachers, who play a key role in prevention.
It will include educational videos and infographics on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, distribution of printed materials, partnerships with recognizable faces among teenagers and other activities. The goal is to achieve increased awareness and change in behavior, reduce incidents related to electrical equipment, and create a culture of safety and responsibility among young people.
ERM Zapad invites all interested organizations, institutions, media and content creators to join as partners in the campaign “Life is worth more than likes“.
