This anarchism that we are observing comes as a result of the inaction of the state, and this has been the case for years. Given that we have one of the largest police forces in Europe and the world, we are returning to the early 1990s, when instead of the power of law, the law of force acted. This was stated by the former director of the National Investigation Service and former Deputy Prosecutor General and current lawyer Boyko Naydenov in the program “Intervyuto“ on BNT.
In connection with the case in Ruse, he said: “The very fact that the director of the SDVR gets into a fight with people close to minors is strange. The order of action is completely different, not to get into a hand-to-hand fight. I urge us to wait for the results of the investigation so that all the facts and circumstances of the case become clear. Neither party has the right to self-defense“, Naydenov is categorical.
He also commented on the serious incident with an ATV in Sunny Beach. “For me, the investigation was rightly transferred to the National Police. There are enough facts about whether we have violations and what are related to this vehicle. More and more people are acquiring such vehicles and endangering people on the streets. There must be regulation and rules. There is already a practice that considers it intentional if the perpetrator got into a vehicle under the influence of narcotics“, the lawyer explained.
According to him, no one who commits crimes thinks about whether they will be caught and what punishment they face. This legal nihilism must be eradicated, Boyko Naydenov emphasized.
“Our society is obliged to react and not by increasing punishments. Until the punishment is imposed, it is more important to know that the punishment is inevitable, that you will be caught and you will not get away with it“, he added.
