Hamas will not participate in the meeting in Sharm el-Sheikh dedicated to the peace agreement in the Gaza Strip

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not yet commented on his possible attendance

The Palestinian movement Hamas will not participate in the “Peace Summit“ in Sharm el-Sheikh dedicated to the signing of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

“As for the official signing, we will not be present“, Hamas politburo member Hussein Badran told AFP.

He stressed that the movement acted “through intermediaries from Qatar and Egypt“ in resolving the conflict.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not yet commented on his participation in the summit.

On October 6, Israeli and Hamas delegations resumed indirect talks to resolve the situation in the Gaza Strip. On October 9, Israel and the radicals signed an agreement to implement the first phase of the peace plan previously presented by US President Donald Trump.

The ceasefire agreement in Gaza came into effect at 12:00 Moscow time on October 10. A “Peace Summit“ is scheduled for October 13 in Sharm el-Sheikh to celebrate the agreement.
