Russian President Vladimir Putin announced today that Russia had successfully tested the unmanned underwater nuclear-powered supertorpedo "Poseidon", Reuters reported, BTA reported.
Both Russian and American representatives described the "Poseidon" as a different class of retaliatory weapon, capable of causing such radioactive waves in the oceans that could wipe out entire coastal cities, the world agency said.
During a visit to a military hospital, Putin told wounded servicemen that the test was yesterday.
