Ukrainian forces, due to the regrouping of combat formations, a change in the configuration of the line of contact, as well as the need to preserve the lives of servicemen, have withdrawn from Novovasilyvka in the Zaporizhia region to positions more favorable for defense, Ukrinform reported, citing a statement on the "Telegram" of the Operational Command "South" of the Ground Forces of Ukraine.
In Zaporizhia region and in the southern part of Dnepropetrovsk region, the enemy does not reduce the intensity of attacks, artillery shelling and attacks with firearms.
Over the past 24 hours, nearly 40 battles have taken place in the Oleksandrograd and Gulyaipole sectors. Russian forces continue their attacks and attempts to penetrate deeper into the Ukrainian defense.
Over the past 24 hours, over 350 attacks have been registered, in which over 1,500 ammunition was used. Russian losses amounted to nearly 300 personnel and 58 weapons and equipment, including one tank, armored vehicles, various types of artillery systems and light motorized vehicles.
Measures to block the enemy's advance and deliver combined strikes continue, the statement on the "Telegram" of the Operational Command "South" states.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces have blown up the road between Selidovo and Pokrovsk in the Donetsk region, Ukrinform reported, citing a statement on "Facebook" of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of the Airborne Forces of the Armed Forces of the Ukrainian SSR.
"The armed forces have cut off the enemy's logistical routes on the approaches to Pokrovsk. As a result of an air strike, the road connecting Selidovo and Pokrovsk has been destroyed. Thus, the Russians have lost the opportunity to use this route to penetrate Pokrovsk with light vehicles," the military stressed.
In other areas, Ukrainian forces are setting up additional engineering obstacles. Meanwhile, the command of the Russian forces is sending "suicide squads" to clear these obstacles, the statement said.
The spokesman for the Ukrainian National Guard, Ruslan Muzychuk, said that the most difficult situation on the front remains in the Pokrovsk sector, where the highest intensity of fighting and air strikes is recorded. According to him, over the past day there have been more than 50 battles in this area, and Russian forces have carried out more than 11 air strikes against Ukrainian positions.
