US President Donald Trump said that peace in the Middle East was achieved thanks to his efforts.
"The Middle East has changed, it is not what it was when I took office," Trump said at a gala dinner in honor of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, quoted by the AP.
The US president noted that this is happening for the first time in "three thousand years".
According to the American leader, almost all countries would like to join the Gaza Peace Council, which will take over the external management of the enclave. The council will be headed by Trump.
"This council will be large, as it will include the leaders of all the major countries," he said.
Trump acknowledged that the situation in the Gaza Strip is currently unstable, but added that there are only "minor disturbances" that have been going on for "decades", and expressed confidence that "the situation is now close to improving".
