Russia provided great support to Iran during the June war with Israel, after which the cooperation between Moscow and Tehran in the field of defense intensified, said in an interview with the British magazine "The Economist" the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic, Abbas Araghchi.
„The Russians helped us a lot during the 12-day war, and after that we became even more actively involved in cooperation than before. That's why I'm telling you that we are even more prepared [for a potential conflict] than for the previous war," he said, TASS reported.
Araghchi also said in the interview that Iran would not extract enriched uranium from under the rubble of the destroyed nuclear facilities until an agreement is reached with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
“No, all the enriched material is under the rubble. It has not been extracted yet and we have no intention of extracting it until we reach a corresponding agreement with the agency,“ the minister said.
