French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot described his talks on Ukraine with US officials in Geneva as "constructive and useful", Reuters reported, BTA reports.

The meeting, which took place yesterday, was attended by senior officials from the US, Ukraine, as well as national security advisers from France, Britain and Germany, to discuss Washington's proposal to end the war in Ukraine.

“Work continues to create conditions for peace that respect Ukraine's sovereignty and guarantee Europe's interests and security“, Barrot wrote on the social network “Ex“. He added that he had discussed the results of consultations with European colleagues and with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga.

Meanwhile, a German government spokesman described the Geneva talks as “very positive“. “We welcome the fact that there is finally progress and things are moving forward“, he told a regular press conference.

The leaders of the so-called “coalition of the willing“ countries will hold a virtual meeting tomorrow to discuss the peace talks. According to a European Commission spokesman, there is still a lot of work to be done on the peace proposals, with efforts on the reparations loan remaining urgent.
