Russian society widely supports Putin's war against Ukraine: when faced with the choice between the value of human life and the pursuit of "Greater Russia", the Russians choose the latter.

This was said by former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski in an interview with the Ukrinform agency, BTA reported.

"We must admit something essential: this is not Putin's war. This is Putin's war, supported by the majority of Russian society [...] In other words, for the ordinary Russian the choice between personal comfort and the power of the state is obvious: they will choose the greatness of Russia", Kwasniewski stressed.

According to him, the situation in Western Europe is completely different: people take care of themselves, their families, their quality of life; human life is valued in Europe, which is not the case in Russia.

"As long as the Russians demonstrate this approach, Putin or his successors will continue this war and will continue to work to restore "Great Russia". Today, there is no influential political force in the political landscape of Russia capable of opposing this "Great Russia" politics or to show concern for the ordinary person, his well-being and individual security", Kwasniewski noted.

The former Polish president also expressed the opinion that the so-called US-Russia peace plan is humiliating for Ukrainians and that American negotiators have approached it uncritically. According to him, Russia is not interested in peace, and its actions are tactical maneuvers.
