The Syrian government and the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have agreed on an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire on all fronts, Reuters reported.
The ceasefire will be parallel to the withdrawal of all SDF-affiliated forces east of the Euphrates River, according to a document published by the Syrian presidency on Sunday.
The deal includes the merger of all SDF forces with the defense and interior ministries after carrying out the necessary security checks, the statement said.
The government will also immediately and fully take control of the Kurdish-held provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Raqqa in military and administrative terms plan.
All border crossings, as well as gas and oil fields in the area, will also be handed over to the Syrian government.
The SDF will commit to evacuating all non-Syrian leaders and forces affiliated with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) out of the country.
The document shared by the Syrian presidency shows the signatures of both Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa and the head of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Mazloum Abdi.
He said he had planned to meet with Abdi on Monday.
This comes after days of fighting as the army advanced into Kurdish-controlled territories in the northeast of the country.
The US must intervene more vigorously to end the Syrian offensive, which in recent days has recaptured key territory from Kurdish fighters, the head of the main Kurdish forces told Reuters earlier.
