Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israel's enemies would pay an “unbearable price” if they attack the country, in a speech delivered before the funeral of Ran Gwilyi, the last hostage of the radical Palestinian group "Hamas" in the Gaza Strip, Agence France-Presse reported.

"We are determined to fulfill our tasks - to disarm "Hamas" and to demilitarize Gaza, and we will succeed. "Let our enemies know that anyone who attacks Israel will pay a heavy price," Netanyahu said.

In the small Palestinian territory, where the two sides accuse each other of daily violations of the agreed ceasefire, some 2.2 million residents are still in a dramatic humanitarian situation, AFP notes.

The second phase of Trump's plan, approved by the UN Security Council last November, provides, in addition to the disarmament of "Hamas", for the gradual withdrawal of the Israeli army, which still controls more than half of the territory, and the deployment of international forces to stabilize the situation.
