NATO announced on Monday that it had launched a mission to strengthen its presence in the Arctic as part of an agreement to ease serious tensions in the alliance caused by President Donald Trump's desire for the United States to acquire Greenland, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The new mission, called "Arctic Watch", will coordinate NATO allies' growing military presence in the region, including the Danish Arctic Endurance exercise in Greenland, the alliance's military command said in a statement.
