Former members of the private military company "Wagner", which was disbanded by the Russian authorities, are plotting sabotage in Europe. This is what Western intelligence experts claim, The Financial Times writes.
People who previously dealt with finding employees for "Wagner" from remote regions of Russia have now received a new task from the authorities in Moscow. They must recruit economically vulnerable Europeans to carry out sabotage in NATO member states.
According to Western intelligence, the Russian authorities have resorted to people from "Wagner" after Russian citizens and diplomats were expelled from various EU countries in the past few years.
The tasks assigned are arson of cars and warehouses with products intended for aid to Ukraine. The recruiters from "Wagner" already had an established network in several countries and most often used people who needed money.
The active recruitment of contractors is mainly carried out online through social media accounts.
