The US military said it has so far sunk more than 30 Iranian ships during the US-Israeli war against Iran, including an Iranian drone ship that is on fire, Fox News reports, quoted by Focus.

Ballistic missile attacks by Iran have decreased by 90% since the first day of the war, US Admiral Brad Cooper, who leads US forces in the Middle East as head of Central Command, told reporters.

The French aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle" passed the Strait of Gibraltar and entered the Mediterranean Sea after the relevant order of French President Emmanuel Macron due to the conflict in the Middle East, AFP reported.

As the agency specifies, the ship will travel for several more days until it reaches its mission area in the Eastern Mediterranean. It is alleged that there it will participate in "ensuring the safety of French citizens and its allies, who are under attack from Iran“.

The dispatch of the aircraft carrier to the Mediterranean Sea on March 3 together with an aircraft carrier group due to the armed conflict in the Middle East was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron. Previously, the ship performed tasks in the North Atlantic Ocean. Macron promised to strengthen security measures at its bases in the Middle East after two of them were attacked by Iranian drones, and also pledged to support friendly countries in the region.

Earlier, French Armed Forces Minister Catherine Vautrin announced that the ship was due to arrive in the Mediterranean on Saturday, March 7. She did not specify what tasks the aircraft carrier would perform, adding only that it could later be directed to the eastern Mediterranean. The minister also recalled that 12 French Rafale fighter jets and additional air defense systems are located in the UAE.
