Italy will not be intimidated after Sunday's drone attack on the Italian-American base in Kuwait, which destroyed an Italian unmanned aerial vehicle, Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani said, quoted by the Italian news agency ANSA, BTA reported.

No one was injured in the attack. The attack came just days after another incident in which an Italian base in Erbil, in Iraqi Kurdistan, was shelled. And in this case, there were no injuries.

"We will not be intimidated, the Italian missions continue", Tajani said in an interview with "Mediaset" television.

He added that Italy is reducing the number of military personnel in its bases in the region, while continuing to fulfill its international commitments. According to him, the country is not at war with anyone and does not believe that Italians are a specific target of the attacks.

A drone attack was carried out yesterday against the "Ali as Salem" base in Kuwait, where Italian and American soldiers are stationed, the Italian army announced, specifying that there were no injuries, Agence France-Presse reported.

The attack hit the hangar where an unmanned aircraft of the Italian special forces was located, and the device was destroyed, wrote in "Ex" the chief of the general staff of the Italian army, general Luciano Portolano. The military personnel are unharmed, he noted.

The Italian army specified that the number of soldiers at the base in recent days has been reduced due to the development of the security situation in the area. The military personnel remaining at the base are responsible for carrying out the main missions related to our presence. The destroyed aircraft was a key element for operational activities and had remained at the base to ensure the continuity of operations, she explained.
