The United States has struck a large ammunition depot in the Iranian city of Isfahan, using 907-kilogram bombs to destroy bunkers, NDTV reports, News.bg reports.

The attack represents a serious escalation of the war in the Middle East. US President Donald Trump posted a video on his social network Truth Social of a massive explosion, which is said to be the result of the strike.

The footage shows powerful explosions and subsequent secondary detonations - typical of hitting ammunition depots. NASA satellite data indicates that the explosions occurred in an area near Mount Sofeh, where military facilities are suspected.

Iran has not yet officially confirmed the attack. According to the “Wall Street Journal“, the strike used penetrating munitions to destroy missiles and other explosive materials.

Isfahan is a strategic center for Iran's defense industry and includes key nuclear facilities. During the June 2025 conflict, the US had already struck targets in the area.

Satellite imagery analysis shows that Iran had transferred highly enriched uranium to facilities in Isfahan before the war began, raising the importance of the area as a potential target.

Bunker-busting bombs are specialized weapons designed to penetrate deep into fortified underground facilities before detonating.

The strike comes a day after Trump warned of possible attacks on Iran's energy and nuclear infrastructure if a deal is not reached quickly.

Meanwhile, tensions in the region continue to rise. Iran is blocking the Strait of Hormuz - a key route for about 20% of the world's oil supplies, and experts warn of the risk of a sharp price spike in the event of further escalation.
