The Israel Defense Forces launch massive strikes on the town of Rafah in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
This was announced by the Qatari television channelAl Jazeera.
The TV channel notes that Israel is stepping up attacks on Rafah, carrying out airstrikes and subjecting the city to artillery fire. The Israeli military is also reported to be blowing up residential buildings, and helicopters and tanks are attacking the central part of the city.
