Billionaire Elon Musk, who has been criticizing US President Joe Biden, has made a donation to a political organization working for the campaign headquarters of the candidate of the Republican Party for the presidential elections in the United States, Donald Trump, the Bloomberg agency reported today, citing its own sources, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
Bloomberg did not say how much Musk donated, but indicated that it was a "substantial amount" donated to the organization "America Political Action Committee" (America PAC).
According to the agency, the organization, which can accept unlimited political donations, will have to disclose its list of donors on July 15.
In March, Donald Trump, who is expected to be formally nominated next week as the Republican Party's nominee for the Nov. 5 presidential election, met with Musk and other wealthy donors.
In response to the information about the meeting, Musk wrote then on the social network "X": "I want to be extremely clear, I will not donate money to any candidate for the American presidency". In May, he also denied media reports that he had held talks about his potential appointment as an adviser to Trump if he won the presidential election, Reuters recalled.
