The United States and China have not agreed on a specific plan for talks to end the war in Ukraine. This was stated by the US President's national security advisor Jake Sullivan, quoted by RBC-Ukraine, quoted by BTA.

According to him, China has repeatedly stated that the war should be ended through diplomatic means. Over the past three days, Sullivan and Xi Jinping have exchanged views on the war in Ukraine.

"We have not achieved any concrete plan for diplomacy, largely because the United States adheres strictly to the simple maxim 'nothing for Ukraine without Ukraine'. In the end, therefore, it is up to Ukraine to decide how it wants to proceed with the diplomatic and negotiation process,”, Sullivan pointed out.

On Thursday, August 29, Sullivan met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing. During the meeting, the parties discussed the Ukrainian conflict, as well as the possibility of negotiations between Biden and Xi Jinping.

In July, during a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Xi again called for a ceasefire in Ukraine.

Earlier, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that Xi Jinping could end the war in Ukraine with one phone call.
