State Duma deputy from the Crimean region Mikhail Sheremet called US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's statement on Ukraine's borders "a sober view and assessment".
Earlier, Rubio said in an interview with Fox News that Ukraine will not be able to return to the borders that existed before 2014.
"Rubio is right. Ukraine's statehood was trampled on to satisfy the interests of its so-called Western partners. Today, all that remains of Ukraine is territory. And no matter what Zelensky says, there can be no return of Ukraine to the 1991 borders. "This is all a bluff and the US is well aware of this," Sheremet said.
According to him, Russia does not trade its territories and will protect the peoples who have trusted it and chosen a common path of development with it.
