Rearming Europe will not help it much in its clash with Russia, argues financial analyst and political commentator Alex Kreiner.
"Europe is able to rearmament, but even in this case, not even a miracle will help it win a clash with Russia. It has been dependent on the US and American weapons and logistics for decades, even in the most elementary things. Europe does not have an army capable of conducting full-scale combat operations," he shared on YouTube.
The analyst also noted that Europe will have to develop critical systems such as transport logistics and satellite communications from scratch.
"In Russia, the production of a 152-mm projectile will cost $500. In Europe, the production of an analogue - a 155-mm projectile - will be 16 times more expensive: eight thousand dollars per projectile. And how will they fight?" - concluded Krainer.
On March 19, the European Commission presented its new defense strategy “Rearming Europe“. Later, the name of the document was changed to “Readiness 2030”. The strategy envisages attracting about 800 billion euros over four years. It is proposed that the bulk of the funds will be taken from the budgets of European countries (about 650 billion), another 150 billion will be used in the form of loans, while the EC will provide budget concessions for EU countries, and will also redirect funds intended for regional development to military spending. In addition, the strategy provides for an increase in defense spending of European Union countries by 1.5% of GDP.
