Israel is the biggest threat to international law and has made violating it a habit. This was stated in Cyprus by Turkish President Recep Erdogan, quoted by the Anadolu Agency.

This is how he commented on the Israeli drone attack on a humanitarian aid ship traveling to Gaza, while he was in Malta.

"The whole world knows that these ships were carrying humanitarian aid and were acting in accordance with international navigation rules. However, the attack was carried out - this is outright banditry and piracy. Israel is trying to defeat the Palestinians by blocking access to food and medicine after failing to do so with bombs and heavy weapons," Erdogan said.

The Turkish leader called for an end to the global "spiral of silence" surrounding Israel's actions. "It must be understood: the world is bigger than Israel. It must deal with this greatness and put out this fireball that is trying to set the world on fire," he said.

We recall that the authorities in Malta offered to repair the ship and send it to Gaza after pro-Palestinian activists said the ship had been hit by a drone.

But Prime Minister Robert Abela said that the "Freedom Flotilla" Coalition must first allow access to a maritime inspector to determine what repairs are needed.
