Russia launches massive airstrike on Ukraine

At least 8 people were killed and dozens were injured in Russian airstrikes in various parts of Ukraine overnight, DPA reported, citing Ukrainian authorities, BTA reported.

"Unfortunately, three people died tonight as a result of an enemy attack" in the Kiev region, the head of the regional military administration, Mykola Kalashnik, said on "Telegram". He added that at least 10 people were also injured, including two children.

Kalashnik noted that medical teams were still working in the areas affected by the attacks. "Enemy air strikes continue. "Please stay in safe places until the danger passes," the head of the regional military administration told residents of the Kiev region.

Russia and Ukraine are expected to continue the largest exchange of prisoners of war today. Each side released 307 people yesterday. Moscow and Kiev agreed this week to exchange 1,000 prisoners of war, with the first 390 people released on Friday.

It was the only concrete result of the first direct Russian-Ukrainian talks since 2022.
