Donald Trump's presidency brought civilizational change and "restored the world's hopes," Prime Minister Orban told the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) 2025 in Budapest today, the Hungarian news agency MTI reported, quoted by BTA
In his keynote speech at the forum, Orban noted that he had predicted Trump's victory at last year's conference. "And he won. There are elections in Hungary next year. Do you have any further questions?" he asked.
"Donald Trump won and the Trump tornado swept across the world", Orbán said, adding that the American president had restored the world's hopes.
"We will not drown in the sea of “woke“ (from woke – – – – awake, “ aware“ – ed. note.), we will not be flooded with migrants", the prime minister said. "Donald Trump restored hope for a normal life and peace", he added, calling Trump's victory "the most serious comeback the Western world has ever witnessed".
