Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said he has instructed the army to intensify attacks on "symbols of the regime" in the Iranian capital Tehran to destabilize it, Reuters reported, BTA reported.

"We must strike all symbols of the regime and mechanisms for suppressing the population such as the "Basij" (militia) as well as the main pillars of the regime such as the Revolutionary Guard," Katz said in a statement.

The Israeli army said it carried out airstrikes near Kermanshah and Tabriz in western Iran today, the Associated Press reported, BTA reported.

The IDF said that 25 fighter jets hit "a missile hangar and components of a (missile) launch site" this morning. The AP indicated that there were reports of air defense fire in the area.

So far, there has been no confirmation from the Iranian side that the sites were hit. The Islamic Republic has not commented on the losses of its armed forces since the beginning of the conflict with Israel.

An Iranian nuclear scientist was killed in a strike on a building in Tehran, Reuters reported, citing Israeli television “Kan“ and other local media.

The Israeli army has not yet commented on this information.
