Bahrain, which hosts a regional base of the US Central Command, has introduced a remote work plan for seventy percent of government employees and called on the population to use major roads only when necessary, the National reported, BTA reported.
“Due to recent developments and the situation in the region, we call on citizens to use major roads only when necessary to maintain public safety and allow relevant authorities to use the roads effectively,” the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
Kuwait's Ministry of Finance announced that it has activated its emergency response plan to ensure the continuity of financial operations. The country has a large American base that provides logistics for United States military operations in the region. The measures include preparing shelters in the buildings of the ministerial complex, which could accommodate about nine hundred people.
Iran has already threatened to attack US military bases in the region if Washington intervenes on Israel's side.
The Persian Gulf states are located near Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant, which has reportedly been targeted by Israeli strikes. This raises concerns about regional security, both because of the risk of further escalation and possible radioactive contamination.
