Temperature record could be broken today, weather service spokesman says

The German weather service (DWD) has recorded the highest temperature of the year so far, with a spokesman saying that 37.8 degrees Celsius was recorded in Kitzingen, Bavaria, on Tuesday evening based on preliminary measurements, DPA reported, BTA reported.

This beats the previous temperature record for the whole country, set on June 22 in the city of Saarbrucken, when 36.2 degrees were recorded.

The temperature record could be broken today, a weather service spokesman said, pointing out that “today it is expected to get a little hotter“.

A slight cooling is expected in Germany from Thursday.
