US President Donald Trump has given Russia 50 days to reach a peace agreement with Ukraine. This, of course, will not happen, and in practice the US has given the Russian army the green light for nearly two months to launch a summer offensive on the front in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian TV channel FREEDOM commented on this very "ultimatum" from Trump to Putin - against the backdrop of the new round of negotiations in Turkey between representatives of Ukraine and Russia.

How will Trump's ultimatum to Putin end? The TV channel asked its viewers this question. The most interesting answers were read live.

One of the viewers believes that the Russians have serious compromising material against Donald Trump and it is because of him that the American president is not taking any action against Putin. Otherwise, Moscow will make the compromising material public and this could lead to the impeachment of the US president.

A similar thesis has been circulating in the public domain for a long time, although there is no evidence of such compromising material.

Another FREEDOM viewer says that we live in a theater of the absurd: “Imagine: World War II is underway, millions are dying, fascists are committing atrocities. And suddenly a politician declares that he will give the maniac Hitler 50 days to think and make peace. How would such a politician be perceived? Would he be considered an idiot?“

While Trump threatens the closest allies of the United States with tariffs, against Russia, which has been waging a full-scale war against Ukraine for the fourth year, he does not dare to impose severe sanctions that would cripple the Russian economy.

Russia itself admitted that a breakthrough cannot be expected in today's negotiations. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier today that there is no reason to expect miracles in the third round of direct Russian-Ukrainian peace talks. Moscow's conditions are tantamount to Kiev's capitulation - Ukraine must give up its army, territories and future entry into NATO. And there are practically no guarantees that Russia will not start a new war.
