At least two people have been killed and ten injured in a serious collision between a bus and a freight train in the Leningrad region, northwestern Russia, world agencies reported, citing railway services, BTA reports.
According to initial information, the bus entered the railway crossing at a time when a freight train was approaching it. Although the driver applied the emergency brakes, the distance was not enough to avoid the collision.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently being clarified, and the injured have been transported to hospitals. Authorities have launched an investigation into the causes of the accident.
