Russia is able to send 9,000 additional soldiers per month to fight in Ukraine despite its heavy losses, the commander-in-chief of the Ukrainian armed forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, said today, quoted by DPA, BTA reported.
The Russian military plans to form 10 more divisions by the end of the year, he wrote on "Facebook" Syrsky.
"In this situation, we have no choice but to continue mobilization measures, improve combat training and strengthen the drone component of our armed forces," he added.
According to Syrsky, Russian losses in July amounted to over 33,200 people, which is 800 more than the previous month, UNIAN news agency noted.
He said the situation was particularly critical in the sections of the front near Pokrovsk, Dobropilya and Novopavlovka in eastern Ukraine.
In recent days, military observers from both sides have reported territorial gains by Russia, especially near Pokrovsk and Mirnograd in the Donetsk region. The remaining Ukrainian forces there are increasingly at risk of isolation, with the accessible corridor to areas controlled by Ukrainian forces reportedly only about 15 kilometers long. The situation for Ukrainian forces is also deteriorating in Kostyantynivka, a former industrial center in the area, DPA reported.
