On Wednesday morning, September 10, two unmanned aircraft invaded Lithuanian airspace, which confirms the theory that the UAVs did not enter Poland by accident, writes the German publication Welt, revealing new details about the entry of drones into Poland on the night of September 10 and indicating that more and more evidence is emerging that the drones' arrival in the country was planned.

"Based on the available information, we assume that the unmanned aerial vehicles most likely entered NATO airspace intentionally“, a high-ranking officer from the Alliance told the publication.

The number of unmanned aerial vehicles, detected over Poland from midnight on Wednesday until 6:30 a.m. is between 22 and 25, which indicates that this was not a coincidence.

On Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m., two more UAVs entered Lithuanian airspace, according to data disclosed in an internal NATO briefing.

The Alliance assumes that in this way they wanted to check the speed of reaction and what means will be used to combat the drones. The version of a direct attack is not considered, since no explosives were found among the debris.

According to the preliminary Polish investigation, five unmanned aerial vehicles flew in the direction of the NATO base. Three of them were shot down by Dutch F-35 fighter jets. The other two fell for other unknown reasons.

It is stated that it is through this base that NATO supplies military aid to Ukraine.

"Focus" recalls that on September 10, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk stated that 19 Russian drones were detected in the country's airspace at night, most of which had flown in from Belarus. Previously, four unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down. The country's Ministry of Internal Affairs also reported finding debris from an unknown missile.

One of the drones fell on a residential building in the Lublin Voivodeship - in the settlement of Wiryki-Wola, the building was damaged, but no one was injured.

Warsaw convened an emergency government meeting and strengthened security measures. NATO subsequently activated Article 4, which provides for consultations between member states in the event of a threat to one of the countries.
