Sharp LDK+: When a TV and a refrigerator decided to become a car - 1

At the Japan Mobility Show 2025 in Tokyo, Japanese electronics manufacturer Sharp showed a new version of its experimental electric car LDK+. Last year, the company already showed a concept with that name, but now the car seems completely ready for production. And no wonder - after all, the project is not only Sharp's, but also the Taiwanese technology giant Hon Hai Precision (known as Foxconn), which has owned the brand since 2016.

Foxconn, the world's largest contract electronics manufacturer, has been actively developing electric vehicles for several years in collaboration with the Taiwanese concern Yulon. And now their technology has become the basis of the five-seater Sharp LDK+ station wagon, which seems to be designed not just as a means of transportation, but as an extension of your home on wheels.

LDK+ is an abbreviation for Living, Dining, Kitchen - a classic Japanese formula for living spaces

And this is the whole philosophy of the car. Inside there is a real “smart home”: a huge multimedia display, a projector with a retractable screen, a window tinting system, an air ionizer, household sockets and a folding table. The interior can be transformed into a working office, a family cinema or a children's room - depending on your mood.

Sharp positions the LDK+ as a multifunctional space for living and working, not just for transportation. The car is designed with a focus on comfort and digital integration - a logical continuation of the philosophy of the company, which has supplied household appliances to millions of homes around the world for decades.

The LDK+ is planned to enter mass production in 2027. And although technical specifications have not yet been published, one thing is clear: for the “old-fashioned” Sharp, the car is transformed into a new form of household appliance. Only this time it has wheels, a battery and the soul of a Japanese engineer.
