Three and a half years after the presentation of the Dacia Bigster concept, the company is now ready with the production model, which was spotted during road tests tests in sunny Spain. Despite the camouflage, it can be seen that the big brother of the new Duster shares a lot in common with the last generation Duster, but also with the 2021 concept.
The front end of the Bigster shares similarities with the Duster, including the shape of the radiator grille, the large bumper air duct and the side vents. The headlights also have a similar scheme.
Compared to the original appearance, the rear has undergone significant changes: a new bumper design, a different shape of the tailgate and a Dacia logo above the license plate. The taillights have retained their shape and pattern like those of the Duster.
The interior of the Bigster is also likely to be similar to the new Duster with a 10.1-inch infotainment display and a 7-inch screen in front of the driver. However, Dacia will definitely add some unique elements to make the Bigster more attractive.
As for the proportions and their comparison with the concept, the front part of the body has remained the same, but the rear has become longer, which will significantly affect the cargo compartment.
The Bigster will be built on the CMF-B platform, which is used in all Dacia models and in some Renault Group products. The new crossover is expected to be equipped with the same powertrains as the last Duster.
This includes mild hybrids, plug-in hybrids and engines running on both petrol and gas. The most powerful version of Duster has 138 hp. (140 hp/103 kW), but probably the Bigster will get an even more powerful unit.
Dacia Bigster promises to be an important addition to the company's model range, combining a familiar design with new technologies and greater practicality. This crossover will strengthen Dacia's position in the market, offering consumers a modern and comfortable car for family trips and daily use.
