Over a third of EV owners want to switch back to ICE cars - 1

While politicians try to force the "green" cars and are convinced that electric vehicles are the future of motoring, the reality turns out to be quite different. A new survey on the subject shows that more than 30% of EV owners are already considering a return to vehicles with an internal combustion engine. What is the reason for this surprising statistic?

Despite advances in technology and the growing popularity of electric vehicles, their mass adoption is still hindered by numerous infrastructural and economic barriers. For these reasons, more than a third of electric vehicle owners are already thinking about returning to LPG cars.

The lack of a developed network of charging stations, especially in rural areas and on highways, remains a serious obstacle for electric car owners. Long trips become tedious planning and waiting. On the other hand, not everyone has the opportunity to charge an electric car at home. Buyers are also deterred by the high cost of electricity from fast public charging stations.

In many places, government subsidies for electric cars have been suspended, but even if there are, the initial cost of an electric vehicle is usually significantly higher than that of LPG alternatives. The battery is the most expensive part of the electric vehicle. Its replacement, which may be necessary after 5-7 years, is a serious financial burden for the owner.

Another reason has to do with loading times. The time to charge an electric vehicle is significantly longer than the time to refuel a traditional car. This creates an inconvenience when traveling long distances, requiring additional stops and route planning. Many potential buyers are afraid of running out of power far from civilization, especially in conditions of insufficient charging infrastructure.
