Audi is saying goodbye to fake exhaust tips on its tuned models, a recent interview with Auto Express reveals.
The news comes after customer feedback expressed great dissatisfaction with the non-functional exhaust tips. This has been a point of contention for some time, with Audi models such as the European diesel S5 being the main offenders.
The move to true exhaust tips will begin with the A5 models, along with their high-performance S5 counterparts. This bodes well for future PPC-based cars like the Q5, A7 and Q7, which are also expected to get S variants.
Whether smaller cars built on the MQB platform will follow suit remains to be seen. For a more cohesive design language across the range, the inclusion of true exhaust tips on these lower priced models would also be a logical step.
