The net profit of the German automaker Mercedes-Benz has almost halved in 2025 compared to the previous year, namely by 49%, from 10.4 billion euros to 5.3 billion euros, according to a company press release.
The reasons for this are: tariffs, the negative impact of the exchange rate and increasing competition, mainly from Chinese manufacturers. Mercedes-Benz sales fell by 9% to 132.2 billion euros. Operating profit before interest and taxes fell by 57% to 5.82 billion euros.
The company sold approximately 2,160,000 passenger cars and vans last year. However, sales in China fell by 19%.
