The authorities of the PRC and Russia will work together to counter the policy of coercive pressures and attempts to undermine global supply chains. “We will oppose attempts to create dividing lines, undermine existing ties and ensure uninterrupted production and supply chains,” Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said at a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, which was held after bilateral talks in Beijing. “We will oppose hegemony and power politics, oppose monopolization and promote the democratization of international relations.“
As the Chinese diplomat specified, in 2024 Beijing and Moscow are preparing for “high-level close contacts in various formats” and will strengthen bilateral ties by “adhering to the principles of non-alignment”, as well as pursuing a consistent policy that is not directed against third countries. He noted that it is necessary to “carefully build relationships” and to interact in accordance with the agreements reached between the leaders of the PRC and Russia.
