The National Tourism Board insists to Prime Minister Glavchev and the Minister of Tourism Miloshev to hold a working meeting in connection with the exceptional delay in the issuance process of work visas for workers from third countries and the need to significantly increase the capacity of the consular offices that process the relevant documents.
„Despite all assurances from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the problem has not found its solution, as some of the applications were submitted as early as December 2023,”, the industry specified in the letter to the government.
Due to the lack of employees and capacity, as well as the aggravated procedure for issuing work visas, hotels and restaurants remain without sufficient staff and are unable to ensure the normal course of the summer tourist season. “This inevitably affects both the quality of the services provided and the image of our country as a tourist destination and represents a serious problem with long-term consequences”, the branch organization concludes.
