All member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) understand the risks of the use of the dollar in relation to the stability of international payments. “Almost everyone expressed the need to increase the share of national currencies in mutual payments. Everyone understands what threats the use of the dollar poses to the stability of international payments,” said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexei Overchuk, commenting on the summit of the organization in Astana.
The SCO summit was held in Astana on July 4. Also on the sidelines of the summit, a SCO+ format meeting was held for the first time. Its theme is “Strengthening Multilateral Dialogue – pursuit of sustainable peace and development”. Currently, the SCO includes 10 countries and more than 10 countries are dialogue partners.
