Turkey attracts start-ups with reduced visas - 1

A website for “technical visa” has already been developed and launched; (Tech Visa), but the Turkish authorities have not yet announced the start date of the program. At the same time, a list of tax breaks, social security standards, including health care, is now available.

The visa will be available to innovative startups and talent from any country. Its validity is 3 years. Applicants can add family members to the applicant list.

The visa for technical specialists will apply to both co-owners and employees of innovative companies that decide to move to Turkey.

Those who received a “technical visa” (and those working in technology parks) plan to receive VAT and corporate tax relief. The government will also cover health care costs. Those employed at the startup will have access to a dedicated consulting service (although it's still unclear what that will be).

The authorities promise to provide assistance in finding suitable office space, communicating with mentors and receiving tax advice. In addition, startups may qualify for national grants.

On paper, it looks promising. We await official announcements about the timing of the program launch and the requirements for applicants.
