The Yemeni government and the Ansar Allah (Houthi) rebel movement have reached an agreement to lift banking restrictions and resume Yemenia Airways flights from the controlled by the Sanaa rebels. This was announced by the office of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg.
"On July 22, the government of Yemen and "Ansar Allah" “We have informed the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, that they have agreed on a number of measures regarding the banking sector and Yemenia Airways for de-escalation,”, the statement said.
The agreement reached by the parties to the conflict in Yemen provides for “repeal of all recent decisions and procedures regarding the banks of both sides".
