The staffing problem will deepen - 1

Over 80% of leaders in technology companies believe that artificial intelligence (AI) will completely change their business. This is the sector most strongly recognizing the powerful effect that AI will have on the development of the world. Far behind them are the second in the ranking – managers of defense and aerospace companies with 63%. With the least sensitivity on the subject are top managers in sectors such as transport, logistics and manufacturing, where only half (51%) are aware of the role of AI. This is shown by data from a global survey of one of the HR leaders, conducted in partnership with Oxford Economics among 2,000 top managers. Its purpose is to examine changes in the labor market from the point of view of top management in companies.

Everyone's prediction for market development is that the staffing problem will worsen and companies must become even more competitive in attracting talent. Digital and technology skills will be most in demand in 5 years and likely to be needed for every type of role in companies.

For leaders in technology companies, however, emotional intelligence (EQ) is becoming more important than technical and analytical skills. 58% of those who participated in the survey share this opinion. The importance of emotional understanding and empathy is recognized by half of managers in the pharmaceutical industry and the health sector.

„The research shows that developing employees' emotional intelligence remains just as important in the age of artificial intelligence. In order to retain their personnel and adapt them to the changed reality, leaders must simultaneously invest in training their people to work with new technologies to take advantage of the business benefits of AI implementation, but also in developing their emotional intelligence. “, commented Nadezhda Vasileva, executive director of the global HR company for Bulgaria.
