A minimal increase in the prices of some basic foodstuffs, fruits and vegetables on the exchanges in the country, the State Commission for Commodity Exchanges and Markets (DKSBT) reports this week in its weekly bulletin, BTA reported.

The market price index (MPI), which reflects the movement of wholesale food prices in our country, rose by 0.62 percent to 2,102 points during the week. Last week the ITC was at the level of 2,089 points. The base level of ITC - 1,000 points, is from 2005

Greenhouse cucumbers became cheaper by 6.5 percent to BGN 2.95 per kilogram, while greenhouse tomatoes rose in price by 4.5 percent to BGN 3.27 per kilogram. The price of green pepper is up by 2.2 percent and is traded at BGN 1.75 per kilogram, while that of red pepper is up by 7.4 percent to BGN 2.04 per kilogram.

Potatoes and carrots are cheaper by 0.4 percent and reach BGN 1.15 and BGN 1.18 per kilogram, respectively. Ripe onions rose in price by 5.8 percent to BGN 1.10 per kilogram, while cabbage fell by 0.5 percent to BGN 1.10 per kilogram.

The price of lemons remains unchanged and their value is BGN 3.82 per kilogram, while that of bananas increases minimally - by 0.1 percent to BGN 2.72 per kilogram. Grapes are more expensive by 2.4 percent and are traded at BGN 2.31 per kilogram, and watermelons by 2.3 percent to BGN 0.55 per kilogram. Apples and melons saw a drop of 2.8 percent to BGN 1.63 per kilogram and 3.5 percent to BGN 1.30 per kilogram, respectively.

The price of cow's cheese fell by 0.1 percent to BGN 11.30 per kilogram, and that of "Vitosha" type cheese. - by 0.8 percent to BGN 16.65 per kilogram.

Yogurt (3 and over 3 percent fat content) increased in price by 2 percent and it is bought at BGN 1.29 for a bucket of 400 grams, and fresh milk (3 percent fat content) - by 1 percent to 2. 32 BGN per liter.

The price of chicken meat is down by 0.7 percent to BGN 6.34 per kilogram, while that of eggs (size M) is up by 1.6 percent to BGN 0.31 per wholesale.

Rice is more expensive by 0.5 percent to BGN 3.38 per kilogram, and lentils by 0.6 percent to BGN 4.42 per kilogram. The price of ripe beans also increased - by 2.5 percent to BGN 4.33 per kilogram.

Sugar became cheaper by 0.5 percent and is traded at BGN 2 per kilogram, and flour type 500 - by 1 percent to BGN 1.30 per kilogram. Oil increased in price by 0.3 percent to BGN 2.79 per liter, and cow butter (125 gram package) - by 0.2 percent to BGN 2.84 per unit.
